Apple’s "Siri" VS. Android’s "Google Voice Actions" which voice control app is better?
Apple features an amazing personal assistant app exclusively on the iPhone 4S named Siri. Motorola is out to remind the world Apple isn’t the only mobile operating system with a voice control app, claims Android’s Google Voice Actions is better.
According to Apple, they had figured out a better way to get things done on mobile smartphone devices. With the iPhone 4S and Siri’s awesome personalized features this was the phone to get.
Apple has never claimed they invented voice control on mobile devices. As most people know, many smartphones before the iPhone 4S have featured some type of voice control. All Apple claims to doing is making the voice command feature better and more user friendly, compared to what was out on the mobile market.
Apple basically bought Siri, made some tweaks, and added it exclusively for the iPhone 4S. So it's not like Apple can claim Siri was their idea.
The big plus about Siri is how you are able to speak naturally to the iPhone 4S as if you were speaking to a regular human and Siri will understand you, without having to sound like a robot.
Check out how Siri works on the iPhone 4S, in the video below.
Motorola on the other hand is not impressed with Siri’s "natural speech" abilities and wants to prove to everyone that Google Voice Actions will kick Siri’s behind. To prove it, Motorola has produced a few YouTube videos to back up their statements.
Using three different Android based smartphone devices, the Electrify, Atrix 2, and Photon 4G, Motorola will go head-to-head with the iPhone 4S to show just how much faster Google Voice Actions is when compared to Siri on the iPhone 4S.
Motorola takes Google Voice Actions and Siri through some challenges to see how they do. The challenges include:
While the videos below do show each of these Motorola devices clearly beating the iPhone 4S in completing the tasks at hand by a couple seconds, sometimes more. I can’t help but notice that in all of Motorola’s comparison videos, the person speaking is giving key phrases or commands lines, instead of natural flowing sentences.
I guess my question would be to all of you is, would you rather have a faster response without having the luxury of speaking out regular sentences? Or, do you not mind waiting a couple extra seconds so that your voice control app can decipher what you just said?

- Seeing how fast a spoken message can be turned into an email, and sent out
- Which was faster in coming up with navigation directions to a specific location
- Which voice control service was able to send a reminder to the user the fastest
- Which device would go to Motorola.com the fastest
