Motorola offers "MotoCast Wireless" on its latest devices. Learn what it is and how to use the service

Motorola has built its MotoCast technology from a previously acquired company called Zector. Zector is behind the ZumoDrive online storage service and the ZumoCast software, which allows users to stream media over the web from a personal computer to a mobile device.
Now that Motorola has put some work into this service, MotoCast users will be able to access all their information thats on a personal computer and stream it to their smartphone. They will be able to stream their entire music collection, view photos, important presentations and documents, and have access to all this content any time while on the go.
If your worried about letting others handle your personal info, you will be happy to hear that this service is not in the cloud, on some corporate server. All your information you are accessing is stored securely on your own PC or Mac. Another great thing about this service is there is no streaming limit and you can access multiple PC’s and Mac’s from a single mobile device. Did I also mention Motorola is offering this for free?
MotoCast is already out on some older Motorola compatible devices, such as the DROID line up and the Atrix 2. With those devices you are only able to upload and sync via USB. This is not the case with the new DROID RAZR and hopefully future Motorola devices, you can access MotoCast’s full potential via Wifi or cellular 3G and 4G networks.
Check out the video below to see Motorola’s MotoCast in action and see all the neat features this great service has to offer.
Ok so I have my MotoCast Motorola device, how do I set up and use MotoCast?
Motorola has also released an easy to use how-to tutorial, on setting up your MotoCast account and getting your mobile device to run and stream your content from a personal computer to your mobile device. Motorola uses the DROID RAZR in the tutorial below, to show off its amazing “Cloud” service, in action.
Do you think Motorola offering MotoCast to its customers will give it an edge over its competitors? Will this make you think of switching from your Android or Apple device? Have you used MotoCast? What do you think of using your PC or Mac as a personal server? Would you rather use a public server? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section, below.
