T-mobile is about to discontinue five mobile phone handsets, in order to make room for a re-fresh in its line up of smartphones for 2012.

According to some inside information and a screenshot TmoNews was able to acquire, the following five smartphones from LG and HTC are nearing “end-of-life” status and will soon be discontinued:

-HTC Sensation 4G
-HTC Amaze 4G
-LG DoublePlay
-LG myTouch Q
-LG myTouch

The “EOL status” does not mean that T-Mobile will start taking the smartphones off the shelfs and stop selling them. You should be able to walk into any T-Mobile store and purchase the Amaze 4G or any other smartphone on the “EOL status” list, all this means is T-Mobile will not be resupplying stock on those phones. The smartphones on the “end-of-life” list are basically going to be sold until T-Mobile runs out of stock in their warehouses.

  • 4.3-inch qHD display
  • 8 megapixel camera
  • Android 4.0

As for what the HTC Edge is expected to have, spec wise:
  • quad-core
  • 4.7-inch
  • 8 megapixel
  • Android 4.0
  • Will measures in at just 0.4-inch thick
