Next weeks new batch of Sony PS3's might not support HD Playback through component cables

A tipster just sent this interesting picture to Kotaku, of what might be information on the new replacement model for the 160GB Sony PlayStation 3.
If the rumor is true. The new model will be known as the “K” chassis. With this new model it is said Sony will Strip HD Viewing when using Component cables. You will still be able to use component cables but not to play HD games or HD movies. The only way to watch HD on your newer “K” Chassis PS3 will be only through HDMI Cables. The screen picture also notes that all future PS3 models will also require HDMI Cable for high definition use.
Kotaku also stated that this change might have something to do with the AACS Final Adopter Agreement which states: All new players sold after December 31, 2010 "must limit analog video output of BD content to interlaced standard definition (480i/576i). Then, 2013 is the expiration date for analog video: no player that passes "Decrypted AACS Content" to analog video outputs may be manufactured or sold after December 31, 2013,"
Again, this only will affect the new “K” chassis PS3 models. If you already have a PS3 or have a newer TV with HDMI inputs then this wont affect you. But if your old school and haven’t upgraded your TV, you might want to start shopping around for a new TV or an older PS3. If the rumor is true Ebay’s used PS3 prices are going to get a little bump in price.
